What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV?

The Chevrolet Bolt EV gets modest updates in 2021. The Chevrolet Bolt is now available in a slightly different lineup from the previous year. There is a new base level trim in 2021 called the 1LT. The latest Bolt also now has a DC fast-charging port included on the top trim. The interior color options have been modified as well. A Ceramic White color is now offered for the cabin, and the Ash Gray color is no longer available. There are some changes to the packages available for the EV, too. A Comfort and Convenience package is now available for the EV. Minor design changes to the front seats and dashboard are other highlights of the 2021 Chevy Bolt EV.

Which Trims & Features Are Available in 2021?

The first Chevy Bolt EV in the lineup is the 1LT. There are many standard amenities on this base trim level. Its impressive list of technology includes a color 10.2-inch infotainment display. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both supported. Ambient interior lighting is included on the 1LT, and it also has a keyless start system.

The backup camera, which was standard in 2020, now returns in a high-definition format for improved quality and clarity. The EV base trim is now available with the Comfort and Convenience package. If you choose to add on this package, you will get more cold weather comforts, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. This package also adds a panoramic mirror.

The 2LT is the second trim level in the lineup. The 2LThas some small but notable exterior distinctions, including chrome accent strips on the door handles. The 2LTalso includes heated front seats in both rows as a standard feature. Various safety aids are standard on both trim levels of the Chevy Bolt EV.

What's Under the Hood of the Chevrolet Bolt EV?

The two Chevy Bolt EV trims share the same engine. They have an electric powertrain with an electric motor that pairs with a 66 kWh battery pack. The powertrain produces 200 HP and 266 LB-FT in torque on both trims. The electric motor is combined with a single-speed transmission. Both trims have the same range, which is about 260 miles.

Safety technology for the 2021 Bolt EV includes forward collision monitoring and rear-end collision avoidance. Forward automatic braking is also standard, along with lane departure warning and lane-keep assist.
