Chevy to Sell EV Retrofit Kits in 2021
When Chevrolet began tinkering with an electric motor, battery kit, and a 1977 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, things began to get interesting. Could Chevrolet take the decades-old model and transform it into a fully functioning all-electric SUV? The electric motor they modeled their kit after was from the Chevrolet Bolt EV, an enticing entry from the brand that is a favorite among drivers. They were able to take a 147 kW electric motor and couple it with a 60 kWh battery. They used a DC-DC converter to handle the AC functions on the powertrain.
