Global Chevrolet vice president noted that the ZR1X was built to honor American heroes, with its legacy extending far beyond its status as the nation's quickest production car. This 1-of-1 edition was designed specifically for this auction to ensure that veterans and first responders receive the support they need through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The car was purchased by Rick Hendrick, the chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group and owner of Hendrick Motorsports. This specific Corvette ZR1X features a hand-painted Stars & Steel design from the General Motors Design Fabrication shop, complemented by blue brake calipers and blue interior accents. A twin-turbocharged V8 engine provides the vehicle with high-end performance capabilities.

Frank Siller, the head of Tunnel to Towers, highlighted that General Motors and Chevrolet have been proud partners in honoring those who sacrifice for the country. This $2.6 million gift will help the foundation continue to provide housing and independence to veterans and the families of fallen service members.
