Even as it starts to show its age, the 2019 Chevy Sonic is still a great vehicle choice among drivers. With its recent refresh, its long list of active safety features, and great fuel economy, it's easy to see why buyers are flocking to it. Read on to learn more about the 2019 Sonic and see why.
For the 2019 model year, there's a new paint color known as "Shock" to choose from. This year's model also carries over the same trim levels (the LS, LT, and the Premier), as well as hatchback and sedan body styles from its previous release. Its interior has grown slightly more stylish with the most recent update.
The 2019 Sonic offers, as mentioned above, two different body styles, three trims, and two engine/transmission combos. While only the LT and the Premier come in a hatchback, sedan buyers get their choice of all three trim levels. The LT is the most popular trim among buyers, and with it, you'll get power mirrors and windows, 15" alloy wheels, cruise control, a 6-speaker audio system, chrome trim, and options otherwise found on the Premier.
On that top-tier model, you'll get 17" alloys, power adjustable front seats, a leather-bound steering wheel, and a digital instrument panel. All Sonic versions come with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system including smartphone integration, as well as 4G LTE connectivity.
While the 2019 Chevy Sonic has received a visual refresh, its powertrain options remain relatively unchanged. The base model comes with a 1.8L four-cylinder that puts out 138hp and 125 lb. ft. of torque, which is put to the front wheels through a six-speed auto or a five-speed manual transmission. With a step up to the turbocharged 1.4L four-cylinder, you'll get slightly more torque and a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as quicker acceleration with no decline in fuel economy. We would be happy to show you this vehicle with a test drive.
Safety is a primary concern among buyers of subcompact vehicles, especially as the average vehicle continues to grow in size. However, the 2019 Sonic is rather competitive in the class. You'll get forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and parking assistance on the Premier and LT trims, but you won't find adaptive cruise control or auto emergency braking.
If you're looking for an economical runabout, the 2019 Chevy Sonic may be the right choice for you. It has enough power to get you through your commute, and enough passenger room for road trips. Visit our showroom to take a test drive or call us for more details.
