New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

Even though neither of these striking Corvette concepts will be produced, they give a thrilling preview of what might be coming. Both the Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo spotlight Chevrolet's global design team's ingenuity and fully display Chevy's performance heritage.

Corvette CX Concept

The Corvette CX is designed to be a street-legal supercar with an aggressive visual presence. Its ultra-wide stance and sculpted form immediately draw attention. A standout element is the fighter-jet-like canopy that automatically opens as you come near.

Beneath the surface is an AWD electric powertrain with four motors. Chevy estimates output at an astonishing 2,000 horsepower for intense acceleration. The lithium-ion battery sits low in the chassis to improve weight distribution, while four-wheel torque vectoring aids handling. The concept also features a Vacuum Fan System that channels air through the open bodywork to create greater downforce.

The Corvette CX boasts a driver-focused cockpit finished with premium materials like forged carbon fiber. A digital windscreen provides real-time performance data, and many controls are integrated into the racy steering wheel to minimize distractions.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a track-focused vehicle that appears in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine race car is powered by a twin-turbo V8 producing 900 horsepower and revs to an incredible 15,000 rpm. The advanced powertrain includes three electric motors to bring combined output to 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel delivers sustainable performance.

Because it's strictly for the track, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo has a pared-down interior to save weight. Its heavily bolstered seats keep occupants secure during hard cornering.
