Chevrolet Reveals Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype at Daytona

In the lead-up to this year's “legendary DAYTONA 500 race,” Chevrolet revealed the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype. It didn't take to the track, but previewed what electric race cars can achieve. Here's an overview of its major highlights.

High-Performance Electric Powertrain

Swapping out the usual V8, the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype runs on an all-electric powertrain. Its three six-phase motors generate nearly 1,300 horsepower and spin up to 15,000 rpm.

A programmable all-wheel drive architecture ensures exact torque distribution to all four wheels. It's built on a modified Next Gen chassis with track-tuned suspension and Goodyear Racing Eagle tires.

True Race Car Styling

Drawing from the “road-going Chevrolet Blazer SS EV,” the EV.R's aggressive race styling is unmistakable. A wide-body kit and tall rear wing create significant downforce, while its ultra-low stance keeps it glued through turns.

Motorsports Innovation

The EV.R NASCAR Prototype gives Chevrolet a platform to test groundbreaking racing technologies, many of which will be used in future race and production cars.
