The 2020 Colorado adds some modern utility to the lineup with its newly optional remote-locking tailgate. Compared to the previous model year, you’ll find some revisions to the features lineup.
What are the 2020 Chevy Colorado Trims & Features?
Choose from five Colorado trim levels: the Base, Work Truck, LT, Z71, and ZR2. The truck you select will depend upon the kind of daily drive that you’re after.
The Base Colorado has all the modern features covered, from air-conditioning to power windows. The Base even does a great job of keeping you connected, with a standard tech lineup that includes the Infotainment 3 system with its 7-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Note that the Base only comes with the extended cabin.
The next level up, the Work Truck, gives you cloth upholstery and carpeting. It also lets you choose between the extended and crew cabin body styles. This trim level also gives you access to more options, including the six-speed automatic transmission and both of Colorados upgraded engines.
In the midgrade LT, you get most of the above features and then some. You get a little extra style with 17-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also adds additional USB ports to charge your devices on the go. You also get to choose from extra options, including automatic climate control and high-tech safety aids, like forward collision warning.
The off-road-ready Colorado Z71 is a great pick for anyone craving a little adventure. This truck comes standard with off-road-oriented suspension and all-terrain tires, so you’ll be ready for the elements. The locking rear differential and hill descent control help you navigate especially difficult terrain.
For an even sportier off-road ride, check out the Colorado ZR2. Its raised suspension helps you clear rugged terrain. This truck also features bigger all-terrain tires and unique front and rear bumpers that improve approach and departure angles. Engage the electronically locking rear differential to increase precision in especially rugged territory.
Raw Power and Stellar Performance
The standard Colorado powertrain includes a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and a six-speed manual transmission. With the Work Truck trim and up, you can choose the optional six-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine makes 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque – plenty of oomph for your towing and hauling needs.
Chevy Colorado also offers two additional engine options, available for the Work Truck trim and up. The first is a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated for 308 horses and 275 pound-feet of torque. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission for swift, responsive performance. The second option is a 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine designed to maximize fuel economy. It also provides 181 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque for impressive performance.
Packed with Safety Features
The 2020 Colorado has your safety in mind. This modern midsize truck offers a number of driver aids, including lane departure and forward collision warning systems, to help bring nearby dangers to your attention. Colorado also offers Chevy’s emergency telematics system, OnStar. It includes automatic emergency notification and stolen vehicle tracking, giving you extra peace of mind wherever you go.
